Care & Share is excited to announce that we will be moving to a new home in 2026—and we couldn’t be more enthusiastic about what’s ahead!
For more than 50 years, Care & Share has proudly served the local community and supported the global work of Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) from our home in the Souderton Shopping Center. What began as a single storefront gradually grew to include five separate shoppes, eventually occupying nearly two-thirds of the center. During that time, Care & Share has provided more than $21 million to MCC, while also offering consistent support to local families and individuals through partnerships with area organizations.
As grateful as we are for our long history in Souderton, the way people volunteer—and the spaces needed to support that work—has changed. Nationally, volunteerism has declined over the past five years, making it more important than ever for organizations like Care & Share to use our people-power wisely. Operating five individual shoppes without adequate warehouse space has created real limitations and inefficiencies for both our volunteers and staff.
After a thoughtful and thorough search, we’re thrilled to share that we’ve entered into an agreement for a new facility in Harleysville, PA, just six miles west of our current location and conveniently located on Route 113. The new space is part of the former Nationwide (originally Harleysville Insurance) campus, within a modern wing built behind the historic structure.
This move is a game changer. With approximately 130,000 square feet—more than double our current space—all retail and workroom operations will be brought together under one roof. Instead of five separate shoppes, we’ll be working side by side in one connected building, allowing volunteers and staff to collaborate more easily and making every helping hand count.
The new location will feature:
-A centralized, easy-to-access donation area on the north end of the building
-Ample parking and simple access from Route 113
-A thoughtfully designed layout that supports efficiency and connection
The broader campus is also being redeveloped, with other businesses and organizations planning to move in — making it an exciting destination for the community.
We anticipate a late spring opening at our Harleysville location and look forward to welcoming our loyal shoppers, donors, and volunteers—along with many new faces—as we begin this next chapter together.
Thank you for being part of the Care & Share story!
