Christmas may still be 10 weeks away, but at Care & Shar,e we are already getting into the holiday spirit! This week, we are highlighting a Blow Mold Nativity Set on our Auction App. 

Nativity Scenes or crèches are much older than you might think! The earliest depiction of the birth of Jesus Christ occurred live in 1223 in Greccio, Italy. Saint Francis of Assisi staged this performance for people who could not read as a way to understand and share the stories in the Bible. 

This idea of staging the birth of Jesus Christ has endured and evolved to include figures of the holy family, animals, and other figures from biblical stories. These sets were popularly made of clay or wood, but today they are made of additional materials like plastic, glass, or even marble.
