Building Community Before Opening Day

As excitement continues to build around Care & Share’s new home in Harleysville, we recently took an important step in becoming part of our new neighborhood.

Executive Director Sarah Bergin and Board Member Michelle Hunsberger personally visited the 20 neighboring properties located along Maple Avenue and Oak Drive to introduce Care & Share and share a warm welcome. Each neighbor received a welcome letter, a beautiful flower, and a $10 Care & Share gift card as a small token of appreciation.

The response was overwhelmingly positive. Every neighbor we spoke with was enthusiastic about our arrival and expressed excitement about shopping, volunteering, and supporting our mission. These conversations reinforced what we already know—that Harleysville is a wonderful community, and we are grateful for the opportunity to become a part of it.

Meanwhile, progress at the new facility continues every day as we work hard to prepare the building for opening. There is a tremendous amount of activity happening behind the scenes.
