Change is Constant

If one word could sum up 2025, it would be change. And through every unexpected turn and exciting new opportunity, one thing has remained constant: the dedication of our incredible team members.

This year brought significant and fast-paced change to Care & Share Thrift Shoppes. The surprise closure of Ten Thousand Villages meant a quick transition as our Book Shoppe moved into that space. What followed was a flurry of adjustments, new processes, and plenty of problem-solving. Soon after, the Variety Shoppe expanded into the former Book Shoppe space—another major shift that came with its own set of challenges.

In the midst of all this change, we also tried new ideas. Our donors continued to be incredibly generous, providing an abundance of clothing and goods for our community. Over the summer, we welcomed volunteers to participate in an off-site first sort of clothing donations. This new venture allowed us to work more efficiently, and we were truly blessed by the many volunteers who stepped forward to support this effort.

Behind the scenes, our Board and Administration were also hard at work in the final stages of securing a new location to make Care & Share more efficient and better equipped for the future. At the celebration of our 50th Anniversary, it was a joy to share with our community our plans to move into a new location—an exciting milestone rooted in growth and sustainability.

None of this would have been possible without our dedicated volunteer group. Your flexibility, patience, creativity, and unwavering commitment carried us through a year of constant change. You showed up, adapted, and continued to serve with generosity and care.
