Clothing Workroom Volunteers – Your Next Volunteer Shift Starts Here!
We’re excited to announce the next phase of our transition to our beautiful new Care & Share home at 355 Maple Avenue in Harleysville! Thanks to the incredible support of our volunteers and staff, we’re making wonderful progress—and we couldn’t do it without you.
This week (June 30–July 3), the Clothing Workroom fixtures were moved and set up in Harleysville. Beginning Monday, July 6, volunteers and staff who process clothing will begin working from our new location. The workroom will operate from 9AM to 8PM.
If you sort, tag, hang, inspect clothing for quality, or price shoes, accessories, and handbags, please report to our new Harleysville location beginning July 6. Park near the front entrance and come through the main doors. Suzanne, Sarah, and Ann Marie will be there to warmly welcome you and help you get settled into your new workspace.
A few things to know:
- Some areas of the workroom are still being completed as we continue getting everything in place.
- The breakroom is not yet equipped with the coffee and vending machines—but they’re coming soon!
- The restrooms are clean and ready to use.
- Water fountains are installed and provide cold drinking water.
- Lockers are available.
- Please wear comfortable shoes. Rubber floor mats have been ordered but may not arrive by July 6.
- For now, we’ll be using a paper sign-in sheet to track volunteer and staff hours. Please remember to sign in and out each day.
As we prepare to open our doors to the community, your help is more important than ever. Every item you sort, tag, hang, and prepare brings us one step closer to welcoming shoppers into a store filled with wonderful merchandise. Your time, talents, and dedication are what make Care & Share possible, and we are deeply grateful for all you do.
This move marks an exciting new chapter for Care & Share. Together, we’re creating a larger, more welcoming space that will allow us to serve more customers, engage more volunteers, and generate even greater support for Mennonite Central Committee and our local community.
At this time, jewelry sorting will remain in Souderton. We’ll share more information as soon as that area is ready to relocate.
