Exciting Progress at Our New Harleysville Location!
The excitement is building as Care & Share continues making tremendous progress toward opening our new home in Harleysville! Each week brings new milestones, and we are incredibly grateful for the many volunteers who have generously given their time, energy, and talents to help make this move possible.
From moving bookcases and fixtures to organizing merchandise and preparing spaces throughout the building, volunteers have been hard at work transforming our new location into a welcoming place for shoppers, donors, and fellow volunteers. What could never be accomplished by a handful of staff members has become possible because of the dedication of so many helping hands.
We are also deeply grateful for our amazing staff, who have embraced the challenges and opportunities that come with a move of this magnitude. Throughout this transition, they have worked tirelessly while continuing to serve our customers, donors, and volunteers. Their flexibility, commitment, and positive attitude have been essential to the progress we have made.
In addition, we are thankful for the support of local businesses that have helped bring this project to life. Companies such as Bergey’s Electric and CHL Systems have generously shared their expertise and services, helping us prepare our new facility for the future. Their partnership demonstrates the strength of the community that surrounds and supports Care & Share.
While we have already accomplished a great deal, there is still important work ahead. Over the coming weeks, we will continue moving shop fixtures, stocking merchandise, organizing departments, and preparing for final occupancy and opening-day readiness. These efforts will require many volunteers willing to lend a hand, whether for a few hours or several days.
To make volunteering more accessible, we have recently updated our volunteer sign-up sheet and added several evening volunteer opportunities. We know that many of our supporters work during the day, and we hope these expanded hours will allow even more people to participate in this exciting transition. We invite anyone who would like to be part of this exciting chapter in Care & Share’s history to join us. Every task completed brings us one step closer to opening a facility that will allow us to better serve our community, expand opportunities for volunteers, and increase our support for Mennonite Central Committee’s work around the world.
