The Care & Share Furniture Shoppe in Souderton closed its front doors for the last time on Saturday, July 18, 2026, as we took another major step in our upcoming move to Harleysville.
If you have shopped in our Furniture Shoppe, you know we had a great amount of merchandise filling the sales floor because of the generosity of our donors. We stopped restocking the Furniture Shoppe last week, diverting many of the new donations to Harleysville. We put our Furniture Shoppe merchandise on sale at 75% off from July 15-17. On July 18, we had a giant blowout sale, offering anything left for $1.00 a piece, “Cash and Carry”! The day was busy as our customers came and scooped up tables, upholstered pieces, lamps, artwork and tools. Many thanks to our volunteers and staff who helped make the final days a successful event!
We closed Furniture earlier than our remaining Clothing and Variety Shoppes to allow our team to continue to move items from Souderton to the new location. While many fixtures have already been transported, there remain unsorted donations, supplies and other equipment to take to Harleysville.
For our faithful Furniture volunteers, beginning July 20, please consider helping us in this interim period by helping to pack up the Furniture Shoppe testing room, the supply cabinets, moving furniture donations, etc., or by helping support retail operations in Clothing or Variety Shoppes. Also, there are opportunities to assist in processing donations in our Harleysville workrooms, including artwork, home goods, clothing, games, etc. Many hands will help speed the stocking of our new retail space! Please see Suzanne Kratz or Jerry Zimmerman for where you can plug in for the next week or two! When we are open for business in Harleysville, we will continue to need your assistance with moving furniture on and off the floor, waiting on customers, loading purchases, cleaning and hanging art, testing electrics, etc.
For our Furniture retail team members, we will be holding training on the new equipment and process for furniture sales. This training will be held in late July / early August time frame at to be announced dates. The process will have elements that you are already familiar with and we believe it will create an efficient way of selling furniture pieces in our new space. Click on the video below for a peak at how the furniture is being displayed in Harleysville!
Thank you to everyone that made the Souderton Furniture Shoppe a success! We look forward to your participation in our new location.
