We’ve all heard the phrase, “it’s time to take inventory”. Well, on January 2, that is precisely what we need to do in all our departments!
Care & Share closes its books every December 31. Financial statements are prepared in accordance with accounting rules and independent public accountants perform an annual audit of our records. Part of the work in closing the books is to take a “physical inventory”. Put simply, that means we count the merchandise we have on the floor at the start of the new year.
We will perform a retail inventory on Thursday, January 2, 2025. We count the number of units we have and record the unit count and the retail sticker price on paper. It’s straightforward and can be completed in one day or less with plenty of help.
Our managers would greatly appreciate any volunteers who can help us count our shelves on January 2. Teams of two are paired up, one to count, and the other to write it down on the inventory sheets. Teams are assigned areas of the shoppes and work methodically to cover the assigned areas. Counting begins at 9:00 a.m. and continues until completed. The shoppes are open during this time.
If you would like to help, we would deeply appreciate your assistance, even if Thursdays aren’t your usual day to volunteer!
