The development of our future home continues to move forward! While we look forward (patiently?) to moving to the new facility, we’re happy to report that each week sees significant advances in the state of the Harleysville plant.

Today, we’d like to share some video clips recently taken. The first one shows the interior ceiling which has now been painted. As in many new, larger retail spaces, when you look up you will see the infrastructure, including pipes, vent work and other fixtures. To bring a cohesive look, everything is painted the same color. Next time you are in a large grocery store, Walmart, or a Costco club store, look up to see how others use this same approach.

The next clip shows the area where much of the pricing of merchandise will occur.  It’s a bright, cheerful area that will allow our team members to work and socialize around tables, and merchandise can move efficiently between sorting, pricing and to the retail floor.

In other areas of the plant, electricians are busy wiring, floors have been smoothed, and cabinets installed in the breakroom. It’s beginning to look like a store! The owner continues to push to provide us with an occupancy permit in April. Once that is issued, then the spotlight turns to us to outfit the areas, installing racking, displays, computer systems, dressing rooms, etc. We will also need to deep clean the entire space, as the construction dust from the cement work leaves a film on everything, including windows.

A number of groups and clubs have already reached out indicating interest in helping us with the physical move. This is greatly appreciated and very needed as much will need to occur in a short period of time. If you are aware of a group, club or business looking for a volunteer activity, please connect with Suzanne Kratz!
