On Friday, July 25, 2025, we held our annual Teacher Appreciation Day at Care & Share.  Educators and support staff, as well as homeschool parents, received a coupon for discounts in our shoppes on this day with the presentation of current school identification or affidavits.   The coupon provided the individual with 50% off one transaction in each of our shoppes, up to $25 per shoppe.  It was our way of showing appreciation for the work performed by educators and support staff in training up the next generations.

The day was an outstanding success!  We had 281 individuals come through the Welcome Center to claim their coupon!  There was a very steady stream of people through about 4:30 p.m., when a storm blew through Souderton and slowed down foot traffic.

Our sales on Friday were $24,656, which exceeded our 2024 Teacher Appreciation day results by over $4,500!  Educators received a total discount of $7,812.

The main focus of this report is to say THANK YOU.  This successful sale day wouldn’t have been possible without the help of our volunteers in getting the donations processed, our shoppes well stocked, and the work on the retail floor with our customers during the day.  Special recognition is given to our Book Shoppe, which set a new all-time Book sale record for Friday at $3,289!

Here’s some interesting facts from our Friday event:

  • 281 educators made 669 transactions in our shoppes, receiving discounts of $7,812.  The average transaction discount was $11.68

  • Total sales topped $24,650 on Friday, 23% higher than our prior Teachers Appreciation day in July 2024

  • Book Shoppe set a new all-time sales record of $3,289

  • The Clothing Shoppe’s sales of $10,715 were just $130 short of their all-time record sales day, set back in February 2023

  • The 669 educator transactions were part of total customer transactions of 1,520 on Friday

  • The Clothing Shoppe sold 931 pieces of women’s clothing; 349 units of children’s; 157 articles of jewelry, and over 100 pairs of shoes.  Famous Labels moved 169 items, and men’s over 230 pieces!

  • Item sales in Variety Shoppe included: 522 pieces of decor; 642 kitchen items; 140 linens; 274 fabric and craft pieces; and 172 office supplies.  Seasonals, such as Christmas and Halloween items, sold over 100 units (and you’re not thinking of Christmas yet?)!

We hope that you can identify your contribution in some of the facts shown above.  Keeping the merchandise in our shoppes well-stocked and fresh is what separates us from the competition.  We could not do it without you!

A big THANK YOU to all our team members for their ongoing commitment to Care & Share’s mission.
