Two Important Dates
We are excited to announce two very special dates for Care & Share!
First, our Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting, which will take place next Friday, September 18, 2026, at Noon! The Indian Valley Chamber of Commerce will be here to be part of our Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening. To celebrate, our customers who check out between noon and 2:00 PM will receive 50% off their order, up to a maximum of $25. We may have some surprises in store too, so we hope you can spread the word and invite your friends and family members to come to our grand opening celebration. It is not unusual for stores to hold their Grand Openings at a time later than the actual date they opened doors to the public. This allows the store to learn from early days and make adjustments as may be discovered.
The second exciting date is Friday, September 25. MCC East Coast Thrift Staff, as well as other MCC East Coast Thrift Stores (management and Board Members), will visit us in Harleysville to tour the new facility. We’re doing a new thing in many aspects, at an operating size and volume that most MCC thrift shops are not at.
How can you help with these two big days?
The biggest gift you can provide is your time in the upcoming week to help us get the store fully stocked. PLEASE CONSIDER JOINING US ON A DAY YOU TYPICALLY DON’T VOLUNTEER! In the days leading up to the grand opening, we need to be sure our shelves are full of great merchandise! This means decor, kitchen, clothing, hanging art, stocking books, and presenting furniture. When customers arrive for the opening sales event, we want them to be pleased and amazed at all they can find here. Empty shelves will suggest that we do not have selection. We also would be appreciative of your help on the day of the grand opening. We’ll need volunteers everywhere – at the hub, cashiering and bagging, as the greeter, people to help at the jewelry counter, second-floor sales, and dressing room attendants. Also, behind the scenes: restocking clothing, house goods, books. If you can help out, your service will be a true blessing!
