Variety and Book Workrooms Transition to Harleysville
As the anticipation continues to build for our operations to come into full bloom in Harleysville, we’re excited to announce that the Variety and Book workrooms and restockers are the next phase of our transition!
Effective Monday, July 20, we ask that all team members who currently serve in the Variety and Book workrooms please report to the new location in Harleysville. Production of home goods, linens, toys, books, fabric, crafts, and related merchandise will now occur in our new home.
This transition is very critical to the success of the new location, as we need to be sure the store is filled with great finds for our customers when we open the doors! We stopped restocking the Variety Shoppe as of Monday, so all processing that occurs from Tuesday, July 14 forward is being shipped to Harleysville. By the end of this week, the processing in Souderton will be shut down.
On the day of your scheduled shift, we ask that morning volunteers arrive at 9AM and afternoon volunteers arrive at 1PM promptly so that Suzanne Kratz, Volunteer Manager, can give the group a short ‘first day orientation’.
During the remainder of this week (July 14-18), you will notice that equipment, tables and other features of the Souderton workrooms will be missing. This is due to taking the items to the new location to prepare for your arrival on July 20. During your shift this week, you may find the work you normally perform, or you may find that we could use your assistance in packing up supplies or other items in Souderton. We appreciate your flexibility during this week, and in the upcoming weeks as we all get used to our new work home. While much will remain the same, some elements will change and we appreciate and value your patience as we learn together what works and what may need to be tweaked in the Harleysville processing environment.
