Volunteer Shopping Week 2025

Our recent volunteer appreciation event, Volunteer Shopping Week (VSW), was held December 1 – 6, 2025. We enjoyed seeing so many of you shopping here, along with family and friends! Thank you for sharing your enthusiasm for your service here with others. If any of your guests would like to learn more about volunteering, please have them contact Suzanne in the Welcome Center. Each of the shoppes held a raffle for our volunteer shoppers. The following volunteers each won a $50 gift certificate:
Books – Jamie Ford; Clothing – Elaine Roth; Furniture – Sharlene Immel; Outlet – Mary Anne Gryn; Variety – Jean Hunsberger

Volunteers and their friends received discounts totaling $8,183 during this VSW. In addition, $2,649 of gift certificates were redeemed (the postcards received in the mail). Including the raffle winnings, volunteers received $11,081 during this semiannual event.

In advance of December’s VSW, we mailed 746 postcards to each of our active volunteers. These postcards included the $10 gift certificate available for use during the week. This was a total of $7,460 of available gift certificates. The cost to print and mail the postcards was $1,000. As noted above, only $2,649 of the certificates were used. With the rising costs of printing and postage, we will be developing a new, more cost-effective way to distribute VSW information and certificates in connection with future events.
