You may have heard—we’re expanding our shopping hours from 52 hours a week to 63 hours a week! But why the change?
Honestly, we’ve been paying attention. Over the years, many of us have found ourselves browsing other thrift shops on a Sunday afternoon—and they’re full of customers! Even Quakertown Farmers Market (Q-Mart) is a bustling place on Sundays. It got us thinking…who are we missing?
What we’ve come to understand is that many of our customers are working incredibly hard—often six days a week, or even juggling two or three jobs just to make ends meet. Sunday may be their only day to shop. And we want to be there for them.
At Care & Share, our mission has always been about more than just offering quality items at affordable prices. It’s about truly caring for our community and creating opportunities to share what we’ve been given. Expanding our hours—and opening on Sundays—allows us to live that mission more fully.
We’ve also heard from many of you who have asked about volunteering on Sundays. For some, it’s the one day that works best—whether it’s a Sunday School class, youth group, or a group of friends looking to serve together. We love that idea, and we’re excited to finally make space for it.
Up until now, our lease has prevented us from opening on Sundays, but as we look ahead to our new location, we’re thrilled to move forward with this long-awaited change.
More hours means more access, more opportunities to serve, and more ways to connect with our community—and that’s something worth celebrating. Thank you for being a part of it!
